Whilst digital albums have risen in popularity over the last century, the charm of photo prints is a concept that we can’t quite seem to leave behind — and for good reason. The tangible effects of photo prints are extremely special, evoking real emotions to share with your nearest and dearest.

At the FUJIFILM House of Photography, we understand the appeal behind transforming your digital memories into something more tangible. With this in mind, we’re proud to offer our in-store photo printing service.

Before you bring your digital photos in-store to print, here are seven tips to guide you through the process of photo printing in-store with the FUJIFILM House of Photography.

1. Choose your images wisely

Firstly, which images would you like to transform into physical pieces? It’s important to bear this in mind. High-resolution images are always preferable, ensuring your prints represent the captured moment in all its glory

Ultimately, our biggest advice would be to choose the photos that resonate most. Photo printing is a chance for you to elevate the experience of these images.

2. Brush up on image size and format

Will you be printing your photos as prints, on a sprawling canvas, or as a personalised photo gift? It’s important to consider the transformation of your photo print, as this can impact the desired size and format of your image when you bring it to us.

Don’t worry — we cater to a range of sizes and formats at the FUJIFILM House of Photography, but compatibility between the digital file’s dimensions and the desired print size is crucial to avoid any unwanted cropping or quality loss.

Recommended sizes and formats

  • Pocket-sized prints: 600 x 900 pixels, JPEG or TIFF format.

  • Poster prints: 4961 x 7016 pixels. JPEG, TIFF, or PDF format.
  • A1 prints: 7016 x 9933 pixels. JPEG, TIFF or PDF format.
  • Photo canvas: 3600x3600 pixels, JPEG or TIFF format.
  • Photo mug: 2700 x 1050 pixels. JPEG or PNG format.
  • Photo calendar: 3300 x 2550 pixels, JPEG or TIFF format.
  • Photo blanket: 6000x7200 pixels, JPEG or TIFF format.

As always, if you’re unsure about your file types, speak to one of our in-store photo experts to make sure you get the best resolution possible.

3. Consider colour reproduction

You may notice a difference between the on-screen colour and your physical prints. This is because the vibrancy seen on digital devices often requires adjustments before printing, ensuring your physical print matches your expectations. Our photo experts will be more than happy to help you make these adjustments, ensuring your photo prints capture the essence of the original shot.

4. Choose the right paper

As well as using premium ink for photo prints, we also offer a range of high-quality photography paper to choose from. Your choice of photography paper can dramatically transform the appearance of your print.

Go classic with our FUJIFILM Original Photographic Paper, make your colours pop with a glossy finish, or go for a subdued, elegant look with lustre.

5. Carry out a test print

Before committing to printing your entire selection, we offer one small-size print so you can see how the colour reproduction and paper type work with your image. This preliminary step can uncover adjustments needed to achieve your desired look and feel.

6. To frame or not to frame?

If you’re not printing your photo as a photo gift or as a piece of wall art, you may wish to accentuate your print with a frame. From sleek, modern designs to rustic, wooden finishes, we have a variety of photo frames on offer — and we will even make sure it’s ready to go for you. Get ready to walk out of our doors with a print ready to display or gift.

7. Go the extra mile with a photo gift

Photo printing isn’t just about transferring images from digital to paper. As well as in-store printing services, we can also turn your digital photos into personalised photo gifts, from photo books and mugs to personalised water bottles and notebooks. They make wonderful gifts, and they’re a great way to experience your memories from day to day.
