We at Fujifilm are pleased that you are visiting our Fujifilm House of Photography website and/or using our House of Photography app or one of our in-store kiosks and thank you for your interest in our Covent Garden store and its products and services. It is important to us that your privacy is protected whilst using our website and/or app and in connection with the use of our kiosks. We may collect, process and use personal data on our website at https://fujifilm-houseofphotography.com and/or when you use our app or one of our in-store kiosks in accordance with the applicable data protection laws, including in particular the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), tailored by the Data Protection Act 2018.

Collection And Processing Of Personal Data

In principle, you can visit and use our website or app without telling us who you are. We do not require any registration. Without further information from you we only collect and process certain technical information via ‘necessary’ and ‘analytical’ cookies (for more information see the Use of Cookies and Tracking Technology section of this Privacy Policy). These can include the name of your Internet Service Provider, the webpage from which you came to us, your IP address, cookie consent status and the pages that you visit on our website or app. This information is only used for purposes of provision of our website and/or app. This data is also analysed for statistical purposes, whereby you remain anonymous as an individual user. Unless you use personalised services on our website, no other cookies are deployed.

When using our website (or when you are directed to our website from our app) you may create an account (and you will be required to do so in certain circumstances (e.g. if you want to book the studio or a course through the Fujifilm School)). When using a kiosk you may create an account (and you will be required to do so in certain circumstances (e.g. if you order a product on a kiosk which is not capable of being produced in-store). We collect and process the information that is required when you create an account. This can include personal life data (e.g. date of birth, age, sex, nationality) but only if that information is specifically requested by you to be included in or on a photo product ordered via a kiosk.

We also process personal data based on your consent, for the performance of a contract or as necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interests, including for responding to your enquiries, ensuring that your photo product is correctly produced and delivered and to customize and improve our website/app/kiosk offerings, products and services in accordance with your preferences (Art. 6 (1) (a), (b) and (f) UK GDPR).

Furthermore, in connection with the personalized services we are entitled to process and use that personal data for advertising and market research purposes or for personalised provision of services if you have given your consent.

If you use personalised services such as ordering a product or booking a course we will use your personal data required for the provision of the services and thereafter for as long as required or permitted under applicable laws. We share your data with affiliated Fujifilm companies if this is necessary to respond to your enquiries or if necessary for the provision of those services. We may forward enquiries regarding our products and services also to a distributor that is responsible for the relevant product or service category and region.

We may use vendors and/or service providers to assist us with the provision of some of our services to you. All such third parties are subject to strict contractual obligations to comply with our instructions and applicable data protection laws as our processor.

Use Of Our Website, App and Kiosks

We collect personal data that you provide to us when contacting us, when registering for a customer account in connection with the use of our website, app and/or kiosks or when ordering products and/or services. The type of data we collect is obvious from the data input fields and upload features used on our website, app and/or kiosks. If specifically requested by you to be included in or on a photo product ordered via a kiosk, this may include personal life data (e.g. date of birth, age, sex, nationality). Depending on the specific interface, upload features can require your consent and can contain links to other websites. We indicate for relevant fields and file types whether the information is voluntary or is required to use our services.

Customer Account

When you register on the FUJIFILM House of Photography website (again note that if you use our app you are re-directed to our website for registration purposes) we usually collect name, phone number, e-mail address and password. Please note that any financial information you provide and/or store when registering your account is not collected by us (see the Ordering products or services section below).

When you register for a customer account on one of our kiosks we usually collect name, address, phone number, email address and a password.

In connection with our customer services we might collect and use further information regarding your enquiries you might have and our handling thereof, including any related correspondence.

If you have created a customer account on our website or on one of our kiosks or any of these, we store your data for each customer account for as long as you maintain that customer account. You may have any of your customer accounts deleted at any time; please send us a message to houseofphotography@fujifilm.com.

In the event of deletion of any such customer account, we store the relevant data only to the extent necessary to fulfil a contract or to the extent permitted or required by law.

With any of your customer accounts, you can administer your contact data and, if relevant for that account, view your current and past orders (as applicable). Please treat your access data as confidential and do not share any of your passwords with any third parties. We are not liable for any abuse of your passwords, unless caused by us. As long as you do not sign out you will stay logged in on our website or a kiosk. This allows you to use our website or kiosk and the various functions without having to log in again. If you wish to change your personal information or place an order, you will be asked to enter your password again. Please close any web browser you used to login (desktop or mobile) or kiosk sign in screen at the end of the session, especially if a third party can have access to your computer or mobile device, or our kiosk. If you become aware of, or if you suspect that a third party has obtained unauthorized access to your access data or used your account, please change your passwords without undue delay and inform us by e-mail. 

Ordering products or services

When you order a service through our website (please note that if you are using our app you are redirected to our website for ordering purposes)  other than the Loan Direct service (see specific paragraph below), we collect additional data such as the services you have selected, corresponding pricing information and any vouchers you might use. In connection with the fulfilment of orders we collect in particular information regarding payment, delivery and returns. . However please note that when ordering any service through our website we do not collect any of the payment-related information from you. Instead, this is provided by you to our partner, 4Fill Europe Limited (Unit 5 Wellbrook Farm, Berkeley Road, Mayfield, East Sussex, TN20 6EH.  Company Number: 13178650) who operate the financial transaction aspects of the Fujifilm House of Photography website when you pay for the services you have ordered. When you click on our Loan Direct service, this directs you to another website run by one of our other Fujifilm group companies to which a different Privacy Policy applies.

Please note that when you click to do the following via our website or through our app you are also directed to other websites as follows:

  • to shop for digital cameras, lenses and/or accessories and/or instant cameras, printers, film and/or accessories you are directed to the Fujifilm shop website which is run by one of our other Fujifilm group companies and to which a different Privacy Policy applies
  • to shop for personalised photo gifting products you are directed to our myFUJIFILM website which also has a separate Privacy Policy

When you order a product through a kiosk, we also collect data on the goods and/or services you have selected, corresponding pricing information, picture files, information on gift options, your or third parties’ address information for delivery and shipping and any vouchers you might use. In connection with the fulfilment of orders we collect in particular information regarding delivery and returns. However please note that when ordering any product through a kiosk we do not collect any of the price or payment-related information from you. Instead, this is provided by you to our partner, Infinite Group Limited (who operate the retail aspects of the Fujifilm House of Photography store for us) when you pay for the products you have ordered at one of the in-store payment points. We use the non-financial information provided by you when ordering to process your order, to ensure that your product is correctly produced and delivered and/or to ensure we can deliver the relevant service to you and to respond to other enquiries. The data we collect relating to your order will be retained for a short period in case of queries and thereafter only to the extent permitted or required by law.

After complete fulfilment of the contract for your order, your data will be stored until expiry of the statutory retention periods under applicable tax and trade laws.

Your personal data will only be used for other purposes if you have given your consent to the use of your personal data, if we are authorised or required to use your personal data for regulatory purposes, or if we reserved the right to use your personal data in accordance with applicable laws and as further described below.

We employ third parties to produce certain goods or services ordered through our website or kiosks and transfer data necessary for any such product to the relevant third party. Such third party will be subject to strict contractual obligations to comply with our instructions and applicable data protection laws as our processor. We also transfer certain of your data to the carrier chosen for delivery to the extent necessary for delivery of goods to you or to the third party designated by you.

Data transfer to perform a contract

For the performance of our contractual obligations, we may employ a third party to produce the ordered goods or services on our behalf and transfer data necessary for any such product or service to the third party. Such third party will be subject to strict contractual obligations to comply with our instructions and applicable data protection laws as our processor. We also transfer certain of your data to the carrier chosen for delivery to the extent necessary for delivery of goods to you or to the third party designated by you.

Transfer To Authorities

Any transfer of your personal data to authorities will only occur in accordance with mandatory laws. 

Use of Cookies and Tracking Technology

Our website and app may use “cookies” or similar technologies (analysis programs). At Fujifilm we take adequate technical and organizational security measures in order to protect your personal data from being misused and to prevent the loss of your data. Your personal data is saved in a secure operating environment that is not accessible to the public. All personal data provided by you in the course of registration or use of personalised services will be transferred in encrypted form in order to prevent misuse of the data by any third party. 

Transfer, Export And Processing Of The Data Outside The UK

Use by us of Fujifilm group companies or other third parties to assist us in providing goods and/or services to you may mean that your personal information is processed outside of the UK. If your personal information is processed in a country that provides a lower standard of legal protection for your personal information than is required under the UK GDPR, we will ensure that, in our contractual arrangements with such Fujifilm group companies or other third parties, your privacy rights are adequately protected by appropriate safeguards, for example, through the use of standard contractual clauses approved by the UK authorities for this purpose.

Other than described herein, no transfer will take place to third parties outside the Fujifilm Group. Personal data of users from outside the UK can be transferred to affiliates of Fujifilm or distributors outside the UK that are responsible for the relevant product or service category and region.
