Emily Endean is a chaser of light, ocean addict and nature lover. At the age of four, she moved to the seaside town of Bournemouth, and soon after her passion for image making began. Today, with an unshakeable love of the English coastline, she documents the scenic beauty of Dorset. Emily doesn’t just stick to the land, however. Keen to explore seascapes from all angles, she’s often found neck-deep in the waves, creating with her FUJIFILM X-T3 in an underwater housing.

There’s no better guide to show you around the Jurassic Coast than Emily Endean. Throughout the day, you’ll explore renowned photo locations, including Corfe Village and Kimmeridge Bay, alongside a few lesser-known gems. Opportunities to create images and explore new techniques will be frequent.
Alongside expert guidance and exposure to stunning scenery, you’ll have the opportunity to use a selection of cutting-edge photographic tools. Emily’s camera of choice is the FUJIFILM X-T5 paired with the XF16-80mmF4 R OIS WR to offer quality and versatility in equal measure.
You’re welcome to bring your own set-up, although a selection of the latest Fujifilm cameras and lenses will be available on the day. Photographers travelling lighter are also welcome to borrow tripods and Kase filters. Please do let us know if there is anything in particular you are wanting to try and we will try our very best to accommodate you or, if you’d prefer to have your own selected equipment, you can arrange a free, 48-hour Try Before You Buy loan in advance
The Jurassic coast is a vast landscape and does require a lot of walking. Some routes will require some climbing and some steep inclines, though we will be stopping for breaks, please bear in mind there isn’t always a comfortable place to sit down.
A packed lunch, drinks, boots or walking shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather are also essential.
12:30pm - Meet at the Greyhound Inn for an introduction to Emily and your fellow photographers, receive the day's brief and cover techniques that you will soon put into practice.
2pm - Break for lunch and to discuss photography practises learnt so far.
3pm - Travel to Kimmeridge Bay, where you will photograph the surrounding area, under Emily's instruction, until sunset.
6:30pm - Return to Corfe Castle to debrief and depart.
The first step towards creative freedom is moving into manual mode. In particular, controlled shutter speeds are an essential part of Emily's process. The creative effects will be covered in more depth once out in the field. Emily will also share the way that she plays with light, a highly distinctive feature of her work. You'll learn how Emily navigates the shoreline to find unique frames; while the final piece of insight is specific to the area. Emily will guide you through scenic spaces discovered throughout the years.
