The right lens can make all the difference to your photography experience and results. With this in mind, our Lens Festival is here to help you find the ideal equipment for your photography genre and style.

First up are our Portrait sessions. With expert demos and the chance to try out the best camera lens options for portrait photography, these two-hour sessions pack plenty in.

Who will be joining you?

Before we explore what the Portrait Lens Festival sessions will include, let’s introduce the FUJIFILM Product Specialist who will be guiding you.

Carl Hare

Carl Hare pairs creative experience with technical know-how as a freelance photographer and FUJIFILM UK product specialist. His photography spans many genres, and while his professional roots trace back to weddings, Carl is equally adept at studio portraiture, street, macro, landscapes and wildlife.

Keen to share his wealth of knowledge, Carl has delivered photography workshops for close to a decade. His passion for the outdoors is a constant source of inspiration, and when he can combine it with his teaching skills, there’s simply nothing better — for him and his students.

What can you expect from our Portrait Lens Session?

Our Photography Lens Festival is all about introducing you to the best lenses for your FUJIFILM X or GFX camera. Our first day will focus on portrait photography, with Carl Hare on hand to explain what makes a camera lens suitable for portraits and help you compare the options we have available.

Along with expert guidance, you’ll have the opportunity to try out some of the lenses we have on offer. These two-hour sessions offer a practical way to find the ideal camera lens for creating impactful portraits.

Itinerary

When you arrive for your two-hour slot, Carl will provide a brief overview of the session. Then you’ll choose from a collection of lenses we feel are perfect for portrait photography and try them out in a practical activity.

What will you learn?

These sessions focus on a hands-on approach rather than theory and learning. They provide the chance to have a go with some fantastic portrait photography lenses.

What kit do you need?

Please bring your FUJIFILM camera and SD card with you, and we’ll supply a range of lenses to try. We’ll also have FUJIFILM X and GFX cameras available to try on a first-come, first-serve basis if you currently use another brand.

Activity and mobility requirements for attendees

Our Portrait Lens sessions are fully accessible and are suited for all photographers with a moderate activity level. The venue and studio are both accessible for wheelchair users.

First Aid

Our workshop and Lens Festival leaders are fully First Aid Trained for studio activities and will always carry a full First Aid kit.
