You’ll discover why the darkness is a playground for creativity and a canvas for compelling storytelling. Together, we’ll explore the unique emotional and artistic qualities that make night photography so special, from the mystery of shadowy streets to the vibrant glow of neon lights.
You’ll learn how to craft cinematic imagery that evokes mood and emotion. We’ll also dive into practical techniques to overcome the challenges of shooting after dark, including tips on camera settings, composition, and making the most of available light.
Meet your mentor
Balwinder Bhatla, better known as Mr Whisper is a visual storyteller and photographer based in London. Over the last 10+ years Bal has specialised in natural and low light street photography, capturing the everyday moments of the city, in and around London. The Evening Standard characterised the Mr Whisper brand as ‘encapsulating London’s ‘most human moments’, a sentiment that certainly rings true when viewing his images.
Since turning pro, he’s released a book titled ‘London after Dark’. He’s been commissioned for photoshoots that have taken him around the globe. With a client list including: Netflix, Disney, BMW, Fujifilm, Google, Instagram & Facebook, the Design Museum and numerous other global brands. Bal’s photographic work has been featured in a variety of newspapers, magazines, blogs and exhibitions worldwide.
