Join us for an engaging evening in conversation with the photographer Elena Cenedese, featuring Tim A Shaw, founder of Hospital Rooms, and artist and professor Steve Macleod, who has collaborated with the charity. This event will explore the powerful role of art in transforming healthcare environments, focusing on how Hospital Rooms, a charity that brings art into mental healthcare spaces, collaborates with artists to create more welcoming, healing environments in hospitals, mental health facilities, and care homes.
Tim A Shaw will discuss the origins of Hospital Rooms, the charity's mission, and how it operates, bringing art into hospital settings to help reduce stress, foster healing, and improve the experience of patients and staff. Artist and professor Steve Macleod, who contributed to the project, will share his experience collaborating with Hospital Rooms and the profound impact art can have on healthcare spaces.
Additionally, the conversation will touch on the Digital School initiative, exploring how creativity and engagement in art can promote mental well-being.

Tim A Shaw
Guest speaker
Tim A Shaw is an artist. He is co-founder and Artistic Director of the arts and mental health charity Hospital Rooms. He is a senior research fellow at Norwich University of the Arts.
Steve Macleod
Guest speaker
Award-winning Creative Director Steve Macleod has been at the forefront of photographic imaging for 30 years, pioneering innovative practices and
publishing several photography publications. As Director of Metro Imaging, he collaborates with international clients, including museums, galleries, and individual creatives. A recognized B&W Master Printer, he has worked with leading creatives and institutions on major campaigns, collections, and archives.A practising artist represented by Black Box Projects, Steve regularly exhibits his works in private and public collections, including the V&A. He is a commissioned artist with Hospital Rooms, Arts Mental Health charity and advocates for mental health awareness.
Steve is a Visiting Professor at the University of Suffolk, former Trustee and Deputy Chair of QEST, and External Assessor at RGU Aberdeen. He runs a mentorship program and serves as a judge for international awards.
Elena Cenedese
Leading the panel
Elena's academic journey began in Italy, where she studied Psychological Sciences of Development, Personality, and Interpersonal Relationships . After moving to London, she shifted her focus to photography and completed a degree in Photographic Arts at the University of Westminster. She co-founded SEBC Photography, a company specialising in portraits, food, and lifestyle photography, and currently works at Loft Studios.
Sofia Berto
Organiser
Sofia Berto, an Italian photographer based in London, has an academic degree in Photographic Arts from the University of Westminster. In 2019, she co-founded SEBC Photography, specialising in food, portrait, and lifestyle photography. She also works at the FUJIFILM House of Photography.
